SHOES

OK i am now on my 3rd pair of shoes! But I want these ones! :(

Bit out of my price range - £159!!! FOR A PAIR OF SHOES.

No Kat you can't have them!! :)

Pay Day!!

Well Ian gets paid tomorrow so we can start paying for some more stuff.
The priority is the cake, car and invites which I am getting done.
On Saturday we are going into town to pick our rings and put deposit down on them and then sort the suits out. Had a bit of a nightmare with the measurements for Kris and Sam, but that was down to my poor instructions and Lisa being really tired!

I am really excited as its all coming together now and getting closer and closer. I just keep having nightmares about how the room is going to look on the day. I am such a perfectionist that I want it done a certain way and because we are on a tight schedule on the morning of the wedding I can’t go down and do it myself! We do get a chance to check it before any guests go in but knowing me I will change everything and all the guests will be waiting for their food all day!! I have to get out of this mindset and just stop worrying, Lisa will do a fab job and has (or will have) the instructions of what I want.

Boudoir Shoot

Well this has been booked for some time now. I am excited about it but nervous at the same time.
It is booked for the 22nd October, and I am flying over the Liverpool in the morning and the lady who is doing the shoot is picking me up and taking me to the studio, as she lives 5 minutes away. I am having a makeover before the shoot, and then the shoot is an hour long with 2 costume changes. I have opted for a nice Basque and pants set for one, and then going to borrow Ian’s Spurs shirt for the other.
Once the shoot is over the lady is dropping me back at the airport for me to fly home.
I may put some snaps on here once they have done. Depending on how revealing they are of course!

Busy Week

Well this week has been quite busy with one thing or another.
I have been setting up the house, and finalising details etc for Stacey’s Hen Party. Then I have been inviting people to my hen do.
We were originally going to go to Chester for the weekend but because of costs I just can’t afford it. Plus other people can’t afford to.
So we are staying on the Island. I spoke with Stacey on Saturday and we said we would do the karaoke bus, but that limits me to 16 people. So I have opted for a party in Bordello. I have invited so many people – lol. Lots seem to be coming so far. The theme is fairytale. Not sure what I am going to go as yet but got loads of ideas and need to save for the costume.
I have started the healthy eating and fitness again this week. I only have 2 more pounds to lose before I have lost a stone. I need to lose another stone and I will be happy. My sister, brother in law, and friend went swimming last night and I felt really good after it. I might go again tonight! That or go for a walk!
I have 3 months before my Boudiour Shoot in Liverpool. I am excited about it but really do need to lose a bit of more weight as photos make me look more podgy than what I am! Plus I am not very confident when I comes to being just in my pants! Hehe.
We went to see Allison Ratcliffe on Monday about the cake. She has all my ideas down and now I just need to pay the deposit and we are all booked in!

Stacey's Hen Party

I am so excited today, there has been talk of Hen Parties and fancy dress this lunchtime, and I just had to share my costume for Stacey's hen party with you.

I can't wait, i hope she is going to have a good time!

We are all starting at my house, for dancing and champagne cocktails. Then we are heading to a bar in town, where i have booked out a side room for us all for an hour. Yay cocktails.....

Then Stacey said that she wants to head to another bar called Bordello, and then onto a club, Colours.

I think i have gone over board with the stuff for her, but hey ho its only for one night isn't it!

I have goodie bags for all the girls coming and the theme is 1980s neon, we we have to be as bright as possible. As you can see from the picture i think i have achieved that goal!?!

The Car

I was originally going to have a friend do the wedding car for me, but he hasn’t been well, and hasn’t replied to my emails. So as a back up I have asked for some quotes. I think I am going to have a Silver Merc!! But what I want to know is why are they so blooming expensive? Its only a car for god’s sake and its only taking me down the road!?!?!? http://www.kandbcarriages.com/

The Cake

I was originally going to get an M&S Cake and decorate it myself. But Ian’s sister has insisted on paying for a proper one. So on Monday I am going to go see Allison Radcliffe to discuss what I want. http://www.manxcakemaker.com/
I just want a 3 tiered, square cake, with purple icing on the middle tier and lilac heart icing dotted around the cake, and then purple ribbon around each of the tiers.
Simples!
For the topper, a lovely lady called Pauline is making this for me. It will be me and Ian in our wedding clobber. Pauline is so talented at this, she has made 2 toppers for me before and they have just been amazing. http://www.wedding-toppers.com/

Reception

Well the Reception is going to be held at the Hilton Hotel, with a champagne reception (well sparkling wine as I ain’t that flush!!) followed by a 3 course wedding breakfast. I am really excited as a friend of mine’s sister is going to sing for the guests as they arrive. I haven’t put a song list together yet but she said she will sing anything. Also at the champagne reception I am having 2 big balloon airwalkers, as the bride and groom until we arrive, as we will be getting our photographs done at this point. I thought it would be something fun to do.
The room will be decorated and I have put a lot of thought into this! The window will be decorated with fairy lights covered in organza fabric. The top table will have also the same at the front, with some purple ribbon. The table centres are 40cm Manhatten Martini Glasses, with purple sand/beads in the middle with rose’s and leaves and lights coming out and being entwined around the stem.
For the favours they are tux or dresses depending on your gender, with a party popper, confetti and a wine glass charm in an organza bag. You also have a love quote, a framed name place setting and some bubbles. The tables will also have a purple organza table runner, and the chairs will have covers with purple satin sash.
For ice breakers on the tables there will be trivia boxes. I am sure that will get everyone going. In the background there will be a DVD playing of pictures of me and Ian from when we were young to how we are today. I am sure I have other things for the tables etc, but I just can’t think.
As there maybe a couple hours break between the day and evening reception, I am going to get board games to scatter around and I am off to play BINGO J hehe.
For the evening, Lauren is going to do some more singing for about half and hour, and then the DJ/Karaoke starts. We will also have a big photobooth for anyone who wants to get their photos taken. This has cost a fortune so I am hoping we get some really nice photos of everyone! They will be able to get a free print too! Aren’t we kind. http://www.partyprintsphotobooths.co.uk/ this is the website, and Jonathan is so nice and helpful. I would recommend them to everyone!

My dress.

It is a Maggie Sottero dress, I think the name is Olympia, and its stunning.
I originally was going to get a Mori Lee dress with Purple around the edges, but even though it was nice and I looked nice in it I still didn’t think it was the one.
As you do I was browsing on the Maggie site and I saw the Olympia, and without even seeing it properly and trying it on I knew I just needed to get it! It was THE ONE!
Funnily enough that dress was in the window of a bridal shop, so I rang up and asked how much it was. £875 was the reply! I nearly died, it was a bit out of my price range! So I looked on ebay, and hey ho what do I find, one in my size and price range. So I got it and at a bargain price too, around £315 with delivery.
It came on a Saturday morning, and it’s just stunning and even though someone has worn it before me (which I don’t mind about!) it was spotless! The lady even threw in a shawl, ring cushion and garter all for free. She did have a matching bag, but as she didn’t use it she couldn’t find it. Not that I mind, as I have got my own (bought from New Look, really nice clutch style).
As I am a short arse, I need to get loads taken off the bottom, but other than that its perfect. I just can’t wait to get into it on the day. So excited

Me and Ian

Suppose I better tell you all how we met :)

It was May 2006, and a group of us were all meeting and going down to Laxey for the Blues Festival. Our friend Phil invited Ian along too.
The story Ian tells everyone is that we met in the bus shelter. Which is true. Phil and Ian were already there when I arrived. I was talking with someone (I think my sister) about the Take That concert that I had just come back from and later on Ian asked me about it and got talking from there really. It was quite boring in Laxey so we all decided to get the bus back into Douglas, and go to the pubs there. It was freezing in one (think I was coming down with something!) and Ian lent me his coat. The group got split up and I ended up going home with his coat. Only knowing his first name I had no idea how to get it back to him.
On the Sunday when we had all arisen, my sister kept saying that Ian fancied me, and he kept talking about me to her that night! Well in the end, I got Ian's number from Phil and text him to let him know that he will get his coat back. We arranged to meet for a drink, and the one drink lasted all day, got a KFC and ate it whilst watching the Red Arrows on the Prom (awwww). Since then we have been inseparable......

On 29th Feb 2008, Ian was away snowboarding in France, and I was at a friends house. I text Ian to see how he was (as he had had a accident a couple of days before) and i jokingly said, I can propose to you today, so will you marry me. His reply was "Yes". So i said, i was only joking and said he wasn't!! I was so over the mood and screetching everywhere. And when he got home the next day, he still said he was serious. A couple of weeks later, we went out and choose a ring. Whooo hoo it was all official, the planning commenced.

So thats our story. xx

Our wedding website

Has loads of information about the big day. I mainly set it up for family/friends in the UK who need information for the hotel and of course getting onto the Island.

Peoples roles and clothes

My colour scheme for the wedding is Purple. Every shade imaginable, I can’t be doing with it all matching, how stressful would that be?

So my bridesmaids, (my sister Vicki and Friend Stacey) are having similar dresses in different tones of Purple. The dresses are floor length with ivory bands around the middle. For shoes, Stacey will be wearing her wedding shoes, lovely sandles in Ivory with a diamante butterfly on the strap. My sister hasn’t got her shoes yet, but I said that she can pick anything she likes, and of course are comfortable. I have got them matching shoulder bags, and their flowers are also matching. Lillies with purple ribbon.

My flowergirl, Amelie (Ian’s friend’s Daughter) is in the most gorgeous dress, all fairy like and lilac. This must be the bargain of the wedding. Normally about £65 I found this on Ebay and total costs including postage was £4.45!!!

My page boy, Hayden (my handsome nephew, 3) will be in a daper suit. I might actually get him matching with the boys, but not sure yet, will have a look at what they got when I go in to get Ian measured up at the end of the month.

Then we have Kris who is best man and Sam who will be Usher. They are Ian’s nephews, Kris will be 18 and Sam 16. They will be in tails along with Ian, but their cravats and waistcoats will be purple, where Ian’s will be Ivory.

My friends Stacey and Jon

In November 2007 I met this lovely Girl called Stacey, at Ian's old work Christmas Party. Ian and her partner Jon worked together at the time, and we just got chatting, and hit it off instantly.

Stacey and Jon are getting Married on the 30 August this year, and I have been giving Stacey a helping hand with her preparations. On Saturday she came around to mine, and we did all things wedding. Evening invites, table name settings, sorting her favours, table plan, where to sort out her balloons and flowers for guest etc etc. I think we got most things sorted and I feel Stacey felt it was a weight off her shoulders, for the time being anyway :).

I love helping people plan their weddings, or parties, and would seriously consider doing it as a profession, but sometimes I feel there isn't that great a need for it on the Island as people like to do it themselves. And of course its the cost to set it all up too!! Maybe one day!
